He actually started by asking “How many people live in the US and Canada,” but I have no concept whatsoever about the Canadian population. I was pretty proud I had a decent idea (within 4 million people) about how many people live in the US.

Now, why he thinks the tooth fairy’s regional territory is the US and Canada, that one I have no idea about.

The best part about the attempt to calculate how many teeth the TF might gather in one night was the fact that he didn’t start with asking his Mom how many teeth the TF gathers each night. He started with “How many people live in the United States, ” with a plan to find the answer himself.

Now I have to ask him why just the U.S?

happens all the time at our house, too. I told Micah last night that I want to take him ice skating next week and his response was “no, thanks.” My response was, “let me rephrase that. We’re going ice skating next week.” That seems to work better.

If I didn’t know any better, I would have thought that the word ‘precocious’ was coined purely for D. Poet Laureate, or perhaps the reincarnation of Richard Feynman. Yeah, ‘poet scientist’ pretty well covers him. Somebody get this kid a particle accelerator and a few Robert Frost books…
